Rochon is a native of her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance, the daughter of Zelma Nurse Practitioner and Samuel Staples, a business director and graphic designer. Rochon is a 1982 graduate from Cerritos High School, located in Cerritos, California. In 1986, she graduated from California State University Dominguez Hill (CSUDH) with the degree of Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism, minoring in theatre and sociology. Ullerup first appeared in Battlestar Galactica remake, the Sci Fi Channel's 2006 TV show. The role she played was Julia Brynn. In the first two seasons on Sanctuary Ullerup was Ashley Magnus until the character was removed. Her departure sparked heated discussions among viewers. Many wanted to bring her back on the show in a subsequent episode, before the show was cancelled in the year 2012. Ullerup made an appearance on Chesapeake Shores as Bree O'Brien. Ullerup was Maggie Thomas, the estranged spouse to Michael Thomas, in the film about the disaster Asteroid: Final Impact (2015). Ullerup is a regular as Dale Travers, in the Hallmark Signed, Sealed, Delivered film series since the year 2016.
