Melanie Jayne Lynskey

Melanie Jayne Lynskey, born on the 16th of May, 1977, is a New Zealand actress. She is well-known for her charming, soft-spoken but strong character. She is mostly in films that are independent. Her awards include her winning a New Zealand Film Award, and a Hollywood Film Award and a Sundance Special Jury Award, along with Gotham Award, Golden Nymph Award Critics' Choice Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey was a teenager murderess, who made her debut in a film in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After her move to the United States, Lynskey built a career as a supporting actor in a number of smaller and large-budget movies such as Ever After (1998), Detroit Rock City, But... (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000) and Sweet Home Alabama (both 2002), Shattered glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Away We Go!, Up in the Air!, Leaves of Grass (2009), Win Win (2011) and Seeking a Wallflower (both 2014) Then they came Together (2014) and Don't turn your back (2021). Lynskey's role as the lead in The movie Hello I Must Go (2012) brought her praise from critics as well as an nomination for the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Performer.
