Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English actress, model as well as a director and activist. Wright is best known for her part in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was as the character for ten years before moving on to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). Wright appeared in several independent films, including Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films received mixed praise. Wright made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012 she graduated from the University of the Arts London with a degree in filmmaking. She subsequently founded her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began to make short films. Her first film she directed was that was a coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at Cannes Film Festival to great praise from critics. She also directed Know Thyself (2016), starring Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016) both featuring landscape and emotion as the main themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls, which was premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, featured three episodes. The film was released in Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs, which is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos of singers Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn as well as Scarlett Johansson. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace, Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
